The Greater Divine is the evolution of the iconic and award winning
Divine intelligent loudspeaker. It has all the same functionality that
made the Divine so popular, then builds on it to attract new fans in the
studio monitor world, where the accuracy of audio reproduction becomes
more important, and an abundance of usuable volume level is required.
The Supernal further enhances the Greater Divine functionality to
produce the current state of the art of intelligent studio monitor
speakers for the professional.
DSP Design
The Supernal features Glensounds in
house developed DSP platform 'GEM'. We use this not only to provide the
Dante networking functionality, but also to provide a host of
additional DSP based functionality.
- Intercom mode
- Semi-parametric EQ
- Multiple presets for room size, mounting position, and music source type
- Configurable compressor
Fast Networking
Deal with large networks without problems thanks to a 1GB network interface.
Receives 8 Different Network Sources
Our GEM platform allows the processing of multiple network flows so all 8 network inputs can be from separate network locations.
Headphone Output (Or Line Level)
There is a
6.35mm stereo jack socket for connecting headphones. This is on a break
jack to mute the speaker. The output can also be set to line level to
use as a 2 channel analogue output.
USB-C
There is a USB-C connection that provides 2
input channels to the Supernal, and also receives 2 output channels to
the connected device.
The Cabinet
An all new
larger enclosure. The Greater Divine Supernal is about twice the size
of the Divine, but the good news - it's still a solid aluminium
casting. This gives us a sold, stable, non resonating platform to work
from for acoustic design. And as we designed the casting, it is of
course beautifully curved.
As we expect the Greater Divine
Supernal will also be used by front of house engineers and outside
broadcast, it is designed for a tough life of regulalry being moved.
The solid aluminium will give you the confidence that being moved and
receiving the odd knock will not be a problem.
For mounting there is 100MM VESA mounts on the rear.
Porting
Internally,
the Greater Divine has a stunning and elegant bass reflex port. Many
months of tuning and sampling with 3D printed models, has fine tuned the
available space internally to produce a snappy extended bass response.
More Network Power
There
is now a PoE+ power design, with class D amplifiers. When the Greater
Divine is presented with PoE+ from the switch, the amplifier will have
23W RMS. This gives a significant injention of power on tap from a
network speaker. The Supernal will still operate with a 10w power
output if connected to a standard PoE Switch
Even More Local Power
We
have added a 24VDC power input via a 4 pin XLR, so if PoE is not
available the Greater Divine Supernal can still be powered. When there
is a local power connection the Supernal can realise its full power
potential with an output now of 28w.
Analogue Inputs + Network Inputs
There are 8
network audio sources available, but we have added two XLRs on the rear
for analogue inputs (also routed to Dante). We therefore have local
power and local analogue inputs so the Greater Divine can also act as a
traditional active monitor speaker.
Bi-Amplified Twin Drivers
The Greater Divine is a 2 way speaker. There is a separate amplifier for each driver and a digital crossover.
Plus All Of The Great Original Functionality Of The Divine
Internally a Digital Signal Processor (DSP) takes careful care of the
audio signals, including state of the art compression and limiting
circuits, while a microprocessor provides full setup and control via our
Windows application GlenController including the ability to group
multiple Greater Divines together and control their level
simultaneously.
The Greater Divine Supernallcan receive up to 8 Dante (AES67
compliant) audio over IP (AoIP) inputs. These inputs can be selected by
the user on a large clear front panel select switch. The 8 audio inputs
can also be easily mixed together and their individual levels adjusted.
A priority system is provided to allow one (or more) of the inputs to
automatically duck another. This can be very useful if you want to
monitor one source but also listen to another when audio is present,
such as sending show relay to dressing rooms in a theatre but having the
stage manager's call and building fire alarm take precedence when
they’re active.
Standard microphone stand threads are also provided in the base for
an alternative support solution. (5/8" 27TPI & 3/8" 16TPI)
Different preset EQs and an LF cut can all be set in the user menu to allow the Divine to be used for a variety of applications.
The Greater Divine Supernal is so much more than just another powered loudspeaker.
